What is Recycling? Recycling is the process of taking old or new materials and then reproducing them into a new product. This is done to save waste and pollution, one example of a form of recycling is taking old cans and them melting them down to then create other objects or items that are made from the material.
There are different ways that you can recycle something. For example industrial factories may take the item and melt it down molding it into a new shape to create an item. But some people like to create sculptures and even new furniture by taking the scrap and fitting it together to create what they want.
Recycling is used in lots of different types of media for either a theme or to create certain aspects the media such as characters etc.
One example of an animation that uses the theme of recycling is in the film Wall-E where the film is set in a waste covered earth where the main character Wall-E who is a robot that looks as if he has been built and also repaired by the parts of scrap on the earth. The theme of recycling works really well with the film Wall-E because I think that it suits the look of the characters and the environment really well.
One example where the theme of recycling has been used in a game is the fallout series where the whole look and theme of them game is based on recycling. An example of this in the game is in the weapons and objects as they are all made from old recycled parts as the game is set in a post apocalyptic world where there are limited resources I really like this style in games because I like the way that the weapons and objects look in the game.
Some artists also use the theme of recycling in their work. One example of an artist who use the theme of recycling in their work that i like is Brian Mock. In his work they use old parts and craft them into a character by attaching them together. I really like the way that his pieces look because I think that they are really different. I also feel that I could easily incorporate their style into the design of my character.
The theme of recycling has also been used in many films, One clear example is in the film Mad max where the main character sets out to avenge his partner, his wife and his son who were murdered by a motorcycle gang. It is set in a dystopian land where the characters are all wearing clothing from recycled materials.
